Meetinghouse

In Fall 2019, a group of my writer friends joined forces to create Dartmouth’s first literary journal, a space for diverse voices to speak with one another. The colonial meeting house was a place of town discussion, disagreement, and deliberation, thus Meetinghouse finds harmony in the conversation between fragmented, incongruous parts.

My friends handled the words while giving me complete creative control over the magazine’s visual identity. I started designing the typography and layout of the magazine at the beginning of 2020 and continuously iterated until we sent our proofs to press in December. In keeping with our mission, I solicited a variety artworks from unique student artists to curate an aesthetic strengthened by the differences within.
